My friend Pauline and I went out for brunch today. It was chilly in San Francisco, and we were seated outside. It was still pleasant though because they had heaters above our seats. It’s a tiny place and the food was good and reasonably priced. Our wait was an hour so that must mean that other people like this place too.
This was quite tasty, and I wished my mug was bigger. With a chilly overcast and fog, this was perfect.
The toast was thick, and the persimmon jam was fresh. It was as if they simply scooped the flesh out of a ripe persimmon. The wedge of butter was good and unsalted.
This dish made me happy. The eggs were poached perfectly, grits were creamy, and the greens were savory. I’m partial to butter so I tossed the rest of the sugar in my grits.
