We celebrated my brother-in-law’s birthday by having brunch at Horatio’s at the San Leandro Marina.
New England clam chowder with carmelized leeks, bacon, and fresh ground pepper.
Chunky and creamy. The leeks balanced out the heaviness from the cream and the bacon gave the soup a nice smokiness. The clams were nice and chunky.
Something not on the menu. Pan seared scallops, topped with ahi tuna, mashed potatoes, and garlic green beans and roasted potatoes
Dungeness crab cakes, poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. Garlic parmesean roasted potatoes on the side.

I love hollandaise sauce, but I didn’t taste any butter… The poached eggs were perfect, and crab meat were fresh.
Chophouse burger. Beef burger with tomato, lettuce, grilled onion, buttermilk fried avocado, thousand island dressing on a brioche bun.
Butter-Poached Lobster (claws) Hoagie with lettuce, tomato, poached egg, buttermilk fried avocado, and mayo. Chips on the side.
We had a window seat.
